Texas Trip - Stars vs. Blackhawks
Game winning goal from the game on Wednesday. Nice goal. I was hoping the game would go to a shootout. We had great seats for the game. About 15 rows up in the corner. Originally $85 seats, we got them for $25. Great deal for college students.
It was fun being at the game for when they yell out "Stars!" during the national anthem. It was also funny to see ice girls since that is a very American thing to have at a hockey game. During warmups we went down by the ice to watch them practice and I took a bunch of pictures. So many young guns on Chicago: Toews, Kane, Versteeg, Baker, Seabrook, etc. Also nice to see an ex-Hab in Huet and band-aid man Martin Havlat. There were three Maritimers playing too. Aaron Johnson (Port Hawksbury, NS), Brad Richards (Murray Harbour, PEI) and Steve Ott (Summerside I think, PEI). I also enjoyed having the chance to yell at Mike Riberio since I can't stand the guy. At all.
The teams went back and forth for the first two periods until Versteeg scored a nice goal to go ahead 4-3. They scored another in the third to make it 5-3, then Kane potted the empty netter to seal the deal 6-3.

Texas Trip - Day 1
I made it to Texas yesterday afternoon. I felt like a zombie by the time I got here since I didn't get any sleep since Monday morning, and hadn't eaten for a while either. The flight from Halifax to New York was in a little plane that was freezing cold. The flight attendant dude looked like Mr. Bean (the guy beside me thought so too), and I couldn't understand a word of what he said.
When I got to JFK I had to bus to another airport. So that was my big New York experience, a fifteen minute bus ride. It was neat seeing New York even if it was just from a bus and an airplane.
The flight to Dallas wasn't very exciting. I had a window seat which was nice so I could try to catch some Zzzz's. It was cool seeing the Mississippi river from the plane. Once I got to the airport in Fort Worth, Margaret and John picked me up. We grabbed a bite to eat. When I got "home" I talked to Colin for a bit then had a long much needed nap while he was at work.
We're both super pumped for Coldplay tonight and the OU game on Saturday. And the NHL game should be fun too. Its hard to comprehend all this awesome stuff we're going to do.
Pics and further update to come tomorrow I am sure.
