10. Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever AgoOkay, technically this album was released in 2007. But it wasn't until 2008 that it was made widely available, so I'm including it on the 08 list. This album isn't going to make you jump around doing air guitar, but it is easy to get lost in the beauty of Justin Vernon's bands music. For Emma is one of my favourite songs of the year. A great folk singer/songwriter, the calming style of the album is refreshing and makes you want to listen to the album over and over again. A talented group making a great album.
