Highlights of Haloween

So as I said yesterday, me and Ryan were going to go out and trick or treat. So we did. As you can see we look pretty horrendous. The first time we went, we just went to people on my street that I know fairly well. But I guess they didn't recognize me and they got mad at me and told us it was "Time to give it up boys." Me and Ryan's moral hit an all-time low. We just wanted to get free candy and have fun! So we took her advice and went home and cried to my mother. And then we walked down to Burtie's house and he gave me fish crackers and Ryan wool (which he thought was cotton candy haha, woops). When we came back up my mother told us to go to my neighbour who was mean and tell her who it was so she was all apologetic and gave us lots of candy. That boosted our moral quite a bit so we went to the other neighbours we missed and they encouraged us to keep going. And then we just went at it and covered 2 streets and got tonnes of candy. We had these Montreal Canadiens bags so that caused lots of conversations and controversy. A cop even pulled up beside us and made fun of us for the bags. The funniest moment came when we went to a house and the person handing out candy had the exact same hat as Ryan, it was like a grand homecoming. I laughed really hard.
It was fun going out as a 'big kid' again because our minds weren't completely clouded with greed. (well I wanted to keep going but Ry didn't) We had conversations with people and just had a really fun time with lots of laughs. We used the ' poor university students' line and got all the more candy with the common response "been there, done that". One girl told us she went out in second year so I have one more year left! But next time we'll need a costume that doesn't reveal our age or height.

And after trick or treatin' we came back to my place and watched Mystery Science Theatre 3000: A Space Mutiny with Julia (who also went out in her neighbourhood but didn't get as much candy as me moohahahaha) and Andrea and had a good hearty laugh while rotting our teeth out and ruining our internal organs with excessive amounts of sugar. All in all it was a good day.
