2006 In Music Part 6

Okay so where was the U2 and Oasis on my cds of the year list?!?! Well the list I made was just of 'regular' albums. Greatest hits, live cds, and EPs were not included. So here are a few more honourable mentions.

U2 - U218 The Singles
The only thing worth buying is the Deluxe edition if you are a big fan and already own most of their cds like I do. The Deluxe edition comes with a 10 song DVD from a live Vertigo show in Milan. It is awesome, and it is nice the majority of the songs on it are not on the previously released Chicago DVD of the Vertigo tour. Window In The Skies is an excellent new track available on botht the Deluxe and Regular edition.

Foo Fighters - Skin and Bones
There is both a DVD and an audio CD. I've only listened to the cd and it is pretty sweet. The songs are all acoustic and sound good.

Harrowdown Hill EP - Thom Yorke
I like this EP just because it has an extended (seven minute long) version of my favourite track of his the Eraser album. The other b-sides included are also pretty good.

James Blunt - Chasing Time - The Bedlam Sessions
A live session done by James. He sounds good live, better than in studio in my opinion.

Switchfoot - Oh! Gravity
The album was just released today. I haven't listened to it enough to rate it but what I have heard it sounds like more of the same, which in my opinion is a little bit boring.

Oasis - Stop the Clocks
Our Lady Peace - A Decade
Two more greatest hits albums with a few new song each.

...And the albums that didn't make the cut for the top 15....
16.The Jimmy Swift Band - Weight Of the World
17. Jets Overhead - Bridges
18. The Stokes - First Impressions of Earth
19. The Tragically Hip - World Container
