2008 In Music Album 13

13. Portishead - Third
I thought I had purchased a Radiohead album, but realized it was actually Portishead. Well not really. But this album has definitely been influential for me. There was a lot of hype around it since they have not released an album for over a decade. So I gave it a shot, and was impressed by this genre that was new to me: trip hop. And I must say I love it. I have listened to Portishead and other similar artists. There is something very chilling and dark, yet beautiful about Beth Gibbons voice.
