6. Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid
Not often do I put a song on repeat on iTunes. Not often does a song capture my attention like Grounds For Divorce did this year. A great discovery courtesy of Dave on Coldplaying. Sometimes Elbow seems to me like an older, more mature, more drunken version of Coldplay, not sure why. Could be the Britishness that runs through everything. This album contains some of the best romantic rock songs of the summer in Mirrorball and One Day Like This. The strings and overall feel of One Day Like This could pull the saddest person out of depression for six minutes.
